HOMEOPATHY FOR UTERINE FIBROIDS

Uterine fibroids are growths made up of the muscle and connective tissue from the wall of the uterus. These growths are usually not cancerous.

Fibroids can grow as a single nodule or in a cluster. Fibroid cluster can range in size from 1mm to more than 20 cm in diameter or even larger. These growths can develop within the wall of the uterus, inside the main cavity of the organ or even on the outer surface.

Fibroids are actually a very common type of growth in uterus. Approximately 40-80% of women have fibroids. However, many women don’t experience any symptoms from their fibroids. Larger fibroids can cause a variety of symptoms, including

·       Excessive or painful bleeding during menses

·       Bleeding between periods

·       A feeling of fullness in lower abdomen

·       Frequent urination

·       Painful during sex

·       Low back pain

·       Constipation

·       Chronic vaginal discharge

·       Inability to urinate or not satisfied after urination

·       Increased abdominal distension

The symptoms of uterine fibroids usually stabilize or go away after gone through menopause, because hormone levels decline within the body.

CALCAREA CARBONICA

Menses too early, too profuse, too long, with vertigo, toothache, and cold damp feet. Cutting pain in uterus. The excess flow of menses may result in infertility. Suited to overweight and flabby women. Easily tired from least work. Profuse sweat, especially head. Chilly patient, feel extreme chill, and their feet remain excessively cold during the bleeding. Peculiar craving for eggs, and indigestible things like dirt, chalk, coal, pencil etc. Thick, milky or yellow color leucorrhea.

CALCAREA FLOURICA

Excessive menses. Bearing down, dragging pains in uterus and thighs. Fibroid hard.

ERINGERON

Pressure symptoms due to fibroid. Metrorrhagia, with violent irritation of bladder and rectum. Profuse bright red blood. Bleeding from slight exertion.

FRAXINUS AMERICANA

Fibroid with bearing down sensation, cramping in feet, worse in afternoon and night. Profuse menses. Painful menses. Left ovary sensitive. Uterus is large, heavy, and prolapsed.

KALI CARBONICUM

Severe backache during bleeding from the uterus, better by sitting or pressure. Profuse menstrual bleeding. 

KALI CARBONICUM 30—Kali carb is best for uterine fibroids where bleeding from the uterus continues to take place for too long a period and the blood is corroding or acrid in nature. There is severe backache during bleeding from the uterus, which gets better by sitting or pressure.

KALI IODATUM

Uterine fibroids. Menses late, profuse, and painful. The uterus feels as if squeezed during menses.

SABINA

Menses too profuse, too early, gushing of hot, watery, bright blood, mixed with dark clots. Labor like pain from sacrum to pubis, and from below upwards. Better from lying on back, with limbs extended.  Shooting pain up the vagina. Uterine pain extends into thighs. Bleeding between periods.  Slightest movement increases menstrual bleeding. Increased desire for sex. Foul, acrid, thick, yellow leucorrhea.

SEPIA

Menses too late and scanty, irregular, early and profuse, with sharp clutching pains. Violent stitches upward in the vagina from uterus to umbilicus. Griping, burning, or sticking in uterus. Bearing down sensation, as if everything would escape through the vagina. Pressure symptoms on urinary bladder due to fibroid. Frequent urination due to constant pressure on bladder.

THIOSIAMINUM

A remedy for dissolving tumors.

THLASPI BURSA PASTORIS

Uterine bleeding with violent uterine colic. Prolonged menses. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding, too frequent and copious. Menses appear at short intervals.  Every alternate period very profuse. Profuse bleeding with large clots.  Uterine fibroids with cramps and expulsion of clots.

THUJA OCCIDENTALIS

Pressure symptoms on urinary bladder by the fibroid. Difficulty in emptying the whole bladder at one time, and tried to urinate 5-6 times. Menses too early, too short. Menses is scanty, retarded.

THYROIDINUM

Uterine fibroids with thyroid hormone imbalance. Too early, profuse menses. Metrorrhagia.

TRILLIUM PENDULUM

Hemorrhage from fibroids. Gushing of bright blood from least movement. Menses even two weeks. Uterine hemorrhages with severe pain in hip and back, sensation as though hips and back were falling to pieces, better tight bandages. Faint during bleeding.

USTILAGO MAYDIS

Fibroids with inter-menstrual bleeding. Slight provocation brings on the flow. Menses half liquid, half clotted, bright red, stringy.

AURUM MURIATICUM NATRONATUM

A specific remedy. Has more power over uterine tumors than any other remedy. Feeling as if the uterus fills up whole pelvis.
