Bufo rana is effective for Onycholysis with panaritium . There is blue black swelling around nail, pain in streaks up arm.

CHRYSAROBINUM

Chrysarobinum is best for Onycholysis, where it is associated with psoriasis. The nails become dull and develop ridges pits in the nails.

GRAPHITES

Graphites is prescribed when nails become brittle and crumbling.  Nails deformed, painful, sore, thick and crippled. Nails thick, rough ingrown. Cracks and fissures are seen on tip of fingers. Feet cod and wet and burning in soles and heels is characteristic.

FLOURIC ACID

Flouric acid is best where splinter like pain under the nail is experienced. The nails distorted, crumble, grow rapidly.  Longitudinal ridges are seen on the nails. Soreness between the toes. Painful corns are seen.

MYRISTICA SEBIFERA

Myristica sebifera is indicated for Onycholysis with pain in finger nails and swelling of phalanges.

SILICEA

Silicea is an excellent remedy for affections of the nails, especially if white spots appear on the nails. Blue or grey colour of the nails.  Nails rough, yellow, crippled, brittle, and having white spots. In growing toe nails with flesh and pus.  Finger tips as if suppurating. Finger tips dry, painful at night. Cold feet and arms. Offensive smelling sweat from the feet, hands and armpits is characteristic to Silicea.

THUJA OCCIDENTAILS

Thuja occidentalis is prescribed, where the nails become soft, brittle and ribbed. Brown spots are seen on hands and arms. Perspiration sweetish and strong.

One function of the sinuses is to warm and moisten inhaled air before it reaches the lungs. The sinuses are also with cells that help prevent infection by producing mucus to trap particles of dirt and other pollutants that are breathed in.

Causes

Sinusitis is caused by too much mucus, or a swelling of the lining of the sinuses and nose, which can block the narrow channels. This can occur during cold, hay fever, or irritation of the linings of the sinuses. Bacteria then grow inside the sinuses, causing pain, headache, and sometimes fever. Mucus from infected sinuses can be yellow or green. Some people get sinusitis with most colds, while others get it rarely.

Sneezing. Nasal bone sore. Chilly patients, very sensitive to cold air. Offensive sweat, especially on hands, feet, and axilla.

KALI BICHROMICUM

Sinusitis with distress and fullness at root of nose. Loss of smell. Nasal discharges, thick, ropy, greenish, yellow, and acrid. Large clinkers are seen. Inability to breathe through nose. Tough, elastic plugs, leave on raw surface. Post nasal dripping of thick mucus, discharge drop back into the throat. Much hawking. Nasal septum ulcerates. Fetid smell from nose. Violent sneezing may be present. Headache in small spots. Headache over eyebrows, preceded by blurring of vision. Aching and fullness in glabella. Headache worse from cold, better from pressing at the root of nose.

HYDRASTIS CANADENSIS

Sinusitis after coryza. Coryza watery, excoriating, burning, smarting and rawness. Post-nasal dripping. Hawking of yellow, thick, mucus from posterior nares. Thick, tenacious, yellow secretion. Ozaena, with bloody and purulent discharge. Sinus headache. Dull, pressing pain in the forehead on the affected side. The scalp and neck muscles are painful.

PULSATILLA NIGRICANS

Bland, green colored nasal discharge. Coryza better going out in open air. Bad smell from the nose. The right nostril feels stopped, especially in the evening, and there is heaviness or pressing at the root of nose. Loss of smell.  Headache, head feels heavy, cannot hold upright, cannot raise it. Better by lying down or binding the head tightly, walking in open air. Complete absence of thirst. The patient is mild, yielding, timid, emotional and tearful. Weeps easily. Craves sympathy. Changeable moods.

MERCURIUS SOL

Nostrils raw, and ulcerated. Nasal bones swollen. Yellow green, fetid pus like discharge with burning. Pain, and swelling of nasal bones, and caries with greenish fetid ulceration. Catarrhal headache with much heat in head. Profuse salivation. Fetid odor from mouth. Great thirst with moist tongue.

STICTA PULMONARIA

Fullness at root of nose. Nasal blockage with inflamed sinus. Painful dryness of nasal mucous membranes. Constant need to blow the nose, but no discharge. Catarrhal headache before discharge appears. Dull heavy pressure in forehead and root of nose. Worse from sudden changes of temperature, night, lying down, and better from open air and free discharge.

BELLADONNA

Violent headache, head feels full, as if it could burst. Pain in the forehead and around the eyes. Headache from suppressed discharge. Throbbing pain in head, worse by jarring, touch, bending forward, lying flat, or motion of the eyes, better from binding the head tightly or applying pressure, sitting up, bending the head backwards. Pains come suddenly, lasts indefinitely, and cease suddenly. Eyes sensitive to light, face is red, and flushed.

SPIGELIA

Left side headache, left side frontal sinus is affected. Severe throbbing pain over the left eye. Post-nasal dripping of mucus. People gets sinusitis after exposure to cold or cold, wet weather. Feel from warmth or when they stoop or bend the head forward, better from cold applications or from washing with cold water.

LYCOPODIUM CLAVATUM

Frontal sinusitis. Right sided frontal headache with pain over right eye, worse from rising up and better from lying down. Nose stopped up at night. Fan like motion of alae nasi. ACONITUM NAPELLUS

Sudden onset.  Anxiety, restlessness, excitement with dryness of mouth and thirst. Skin is dry and hot. Fear of death. Dry cough. Left side chest pain, worse lying on left side. Profuse sweat, wants to uncover. Fever with thirst.

BAPTISIA TINCTORIA

Sudden onset of high fever. Pains and soreness all over the body. Profound prostration. Chilly with soreness of body. Diarrhea with fever.

BELLADONNA

High temperature.  Dry heat, externally hot. Burning, pungent, steaming heat. Delirium.  Forehead hot, feet cold, Sweat on affected part. No thirst with fever.

BRYONIA ALB

Fever. Dry cough, stitching pain in chest. Great thirst, thirst for large quantities of water. Joint pains. Irritable, wants to lie quiet. Vertigo. Easy, profuse perspiration. Sweat sour or oily after slight exertion.

EUPATORIUM PERFOLIATUM

Fever with severe bone pains.  Great soreness and aching of bones. Thirst before chill; chills with thirst; along with backache, wants to be covered. Drinking causes nausea. Bitter vomiting at the end of chill. Sweaty scanty. Sweat, relieves all the symptoms, except the headache.

FERRUM PHOSPHORICUM

For first stage of all catarrhal and inflammatory fevers. Throbbing headache with sensitive scalp and earache. Chills with desire to stretch. Dry cough. Heat with sweaty hands.

GELSEMIUM SEMPERVENS

Fever with dullness, drowsiness and dizziness. Chills up and down back, wants to be covered. Wants to lie still. Great weakness. No thirst. Fever with muscular soreness, great prostration and headache.

HEPAR SULPUR

Catarrhal fever with ear, nose and throat complaints. Chilliness.  Chilly in open air or slightest draught. Thirstlessness during chill, thirst during heat. Throat pain better by warmth. Profuse sweat, sour, sticky, and offensive.

IPECACUANHA

Gastric symptoms predominate in chill in fever. Cold hands and feet; one hand cold, other hand hot. Thirstlessness with chills. Nausea and salivation. Breathlessness and dry cough causing nausea and vomiting. Clean tongue, not coated.

PULSATILLA NIGRICANS

Catarrhal fever with snuffles. Internally feels feverish, externally imperceptible. Chilliness without thirst.  Thirst with heat, wants to be covered in heat stage. External heat is intolerable, veins are distended.  Ever changing symptoms. Coated tongue, with slimy bitter taste.

RHUS TOXICODENDRON

Fever with muscular pain. Great restlessness. Muscle stiffness, better from motion. Dry cough before chill. Thirst for water. Triangular red tip tongue. Heat rashes, urticaria.

 

SEVERE CASES

 

ANTIMONIUM ARSENICOSUM

Catarrhal pneumonia. Dyspnea with excessive secretion. Wheezing. Worse on eating or lying down.   Rales and crepitations in chest. Especially in climacteric and old people. Comorbidities of heart. Weakness and restlessness. Coated tongue with thirst.

ARSENIC ALBUM

Great anxiety, restlessness. Great prostration. Dry burning heat with desire of cold water; wants to be uncovered during heat stage. Heat stage predominant. Chill and heat alternate. Difficulty in breathing, wheezing, worse lying down. Shortness of breath, must sit up. Pain in the right upper side of lung. Thirst for small quantities of water at frequent intervals. Water taste bitter. Complaints worse after midnight.

BROMIUM

Prolonged cold and cough, worse by heat, summer. Base of lung, especially right lower lobe is affected. Cough morning, worse open air, better by drinking. Dry cough during heat. Loose cough, worse by exertion and warmth. Cough with hoarseness, burning pain behind the sternum. Cough with rattling of mucus in larynx. Wants to take deep breath, but it excites cough.

CHELIDONIUM MAJUS

Pneumonia with liver and renal complications. Useful in early and late stages of pneumonia. Right lower lobe is affected. Cough loose, rattling, expectoration difficult or it flies from mouth.   Pain lower angle of scapula. Hemoptysis with dark colored expectoration. Tongue yellow with imprint of teeth, large and flabby. Yellowish tinged skin.

JUSTICIA ADHATODA

Paroxysmal cough, with suffocative obstruction of respiration. Cough with sneezing. Severe dyspnea with cough. Tightness across chest. Hoarseness, larynx painful.

KALI CARBONICONICUM

Dry, hard cough, about 3 am, with stitching pain in chest, worse by lying down have to sit upright.  Salty expectoration and cough with involuntary urination. Anxiety felt in chest, stomach, better sitting at elbow and knee. Profuse sweat on slightest exertion. Worse at 2-3 am, lying on painful side or left side, sudden motion. Consider after Belladonna and Bryonia.

LYCOPODIUM CLAVATUM

Neglected or unresolved pneumonia with great dyspnea.  Right lower lobe is affected. Cough, with profuse greenish or blood-streaked sputum. Breathlessness.  Frown on forehead and flapping of alae nasi. Flatulent abdomen. Desire for hot food and drinks.

PHOSPHORUS

Fast paced disease, sometimes within 24 hours. Reddish flush on face and patient more active initially, later on exhausted. Pneumonia of left lower lung. Pneumonia with oppression, worse lying on left side.  Cough with rawness of chest. Hemoptysis by 2^nd or 3^rd day, bright red blood. Constriction of larynx. Worse lying on left side, better lying on right side. Paroxysms of 2-3 cough, worse lying down, has to hold the abdomen. Better by warm applications. Chills begin from back. Fever at night with sweat. Burning heat. Restlessness with thirst. Chilly patient. Desire for cold drinks and juice.

SENEGA

Rattling in chest. Sticky thick expectoration with wheezing. Rattling in chest, difficulty in raising sputum, especially in cases of emphysematous and COPD patients. Violent cough, hyperesthesia of chest.  Cough often ends in sneezing. Exudations in pleura. Worse lying on right side. Dryness in throat and chest. Consider after Bryonia stage.

VERATRUM ALBUM

Initial or last stages of pneumonia. Rattling cough. Difficulty in breathing. Tickling in chest in middle of sternum. Cold sweat on forehead. Very anxious.

EMERGENCY CASES WITH LOW SpO2

 

ASPIDOSPERMA

The digitalis of lungs. It stimulates the respiratory centers and increases the oxygen in blood. Want of breath during exertion.

ANTIMONIUM TARTARICUM

Great rattling of mucus, but unable to expectorate. Feels as if would suffocate, must sit up.  Flapping of ale nasi. Cold sweat. Cyanosis. Loss of appetite and nausea. Better lying on right side, by eructation’s and expectoration.

CARBO VEGETABILIS

Remedy for last stage, ‘death reviver’. Complicated pneumonia with multiple infections, especially in old age. Offensive sputum. Cyanotic, blue, pinched appearance. Icy cold sweat. Air hunger, gasping for breath. Wants sips of cold water.

CARBONEUM OXYGENISATUM

When Carbo veg fails. Patient goes into          unconsciousness. Sense of suffocation with rattling of mucus. Respiratory rate slow. Great coldness of surface, hands icy cold.

HYDROCYANIC ACID

Pneumonia with sudden collapse. Breathing slow irregular, gasping. Noisy and agitated breathing. Coldness, cyanosis, weak pulse. Comatose conditions.

OPIUM

Stertorous respiration. Rattling in chest during sleep. Cough with dyspnea and blue face with bloody expectoration.  Redness of face with swelling. Eyes and mouth half open. Comatose. Involuntary urination and stools.

Cardiac dropsy after influenza. Palpitation with vertigo and choking in throat. Violent palpitation induced by slightest exertion, or by laughing, or coughing. Wakes with palpitation about 2 am.  Conscious of heart’s action. Stitching pain as of needles through ventricles felt as each systole. Tachycardia. Cardiac dyspnea.

Removes temporary obstruction to the oxidation of blood by stimulating respiratory centers, increasing oxidation and excretion of carbonic acid. It stimulates the respiratory centers and increases the oxygen in the blood. Want of breath during exertion.

Pneumonia associated with influenza. Emphysema with excessive dyspnea and cough, much mucus secretion. Cough is worse by eating and on lying down. Pleurisy, especially of left side with exudation and pericarditis with effusion.

BERYLLIUM METALLICIUM

Lung fibrosis. Respiration painful, aggravated by movement. Cough deep, dry, painful, aggravated by bending backwards. Sputum streaked with blood. Cyanosis, cough accelerating the respiratory rhythm. Cough aggravated by smoke, improved in a very warm room.

CHINNIUM ARSENIC

Asthmatic breathing on ascending. Breathing unsatisfactory, wants more air than can take into lungs. Suffocative attacks beginning in morning and lasting till noon. Great weakness.

KALI IODIDE

Whistling asthmatic breathing. Violent cough, worse in morning. Expectoration like soap suds, greenish. Pneumonia when hepatization commences. Stitching pains through lungs to back. Dyspnea on ascending with pain in heart. Pleuritic effusion. Cold travels downward to chest.

KALI SULPHURICUM

Post-influenza cough. Rattling of mucus in chest. Yellow slimy expectoration. Cough worse in evening, and in hot atmosphere.

THIOSINAMINUM

Lung fibrosis. It is a powerful dissolvent. Dissolves strictures, adhesions etc. Accelerated respiration.

SHORTNESS OF BREATH

ASPIDOSPERMA

After influenza, and wasting, exhausting diseases. Weakness and heaviness of limbs. Slow recovery of nerve power. Sleeplessness.

SARCOLACTIC ACID

Tired feeling in morning on getting up. Tired feeling in back and neck and shoulders. Arms feel as if no strength in them. Epidemic influenza, especially with violent and retching and greatest prostration. Tried when Arsenic alb fails.

SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM

Muscular pains left after influenza. Sharp pain in right deltoid and pectoralis muscles. Intense aching in lower limbs. Tingling along the right ulnar nerve.

Smell very acute. Influenza and resulting debility.

MAGNESIUM MURIATICA

Loss of smell and taste, following catarrh. Must breathe through mouth. Constipation. Stools knotty, like sheep’s dung, crumbling at the verge of anus.
